Community of all backgrounds are invited to join us for a Pesach (Passover) seder where we will connect and fortify our spirits to resist the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
✊ Passover means liberation for all, not just some. ✊
Passover calls on us to remember that the fight for freedom is woven into Jewish history. It is a symbol of resilience in the face of oppression -- a reminder that the struggle against injustice is everywhere, and demands our solidarity.
The last 18 months, Israel has waged unrelenting genocide in Gaza, breaking ceasefires and escalating its murderous assault to new extremes. The U.S. bankrolls this violence while imprisoning those who resist. We are heartbroken, enraged, and terrified.
How can we commemorate liberation this Passover while Palestinians’ lives are desecrated in the name of Jewish peoplehood? We know our liberation is bound together, and we will not stop working until Palestine is free. As Jews, we say never again -- for anyone. This Passover, we continue to resist the weaponization of our traditions against Palestinians. We cry out for justice with our whole beings as we strengthen the spirit of resistance this Passover.
We invite you to join us for JVP Portland’s Passover Liberation Seder and Solidarity Fundraiser—a ritual gathering to honor resistance and stand up against fascism. We will fortify our spirits and root into community as we commit to work for a free Palestine in our lifetimes, and for a world where all are free.
This event is a fundraiser for Rawa, a grassroots Palestinian organization redistributing resources to support survival and popular resistance in Palestine. We aim to raise $3,600+ through this event. Will you join us? Note: In recognition of the ongoing starvation in Gaza, we will not share a festival meal together. However, we will be sharing ritual food items from the Passover seder plate. RSVP and Donate online.
